Wow, I cannot believe that it is already April! Where is the year going? I’m hoping life goes back to normal soon. As you know my plans to move to L.A. were postponed last year due to Covid. I’m really hoping it will happen around May or June this year. Fingers crossed. Anyways, I have lots of amazing March favourites for you. I’ve been using a lot of new clean beauty skincare products and I’ve noticed a huge improvement in my skin as well. Will definitely be sharing more on that in a later post. Anyway, read on to find out what I’ve been loving in March!
Dickinson is a show on AppleTV about Emily Dickinson. I remember seeing previews for it before it came out and I wanted to watch it. Of course by the time season 1 came out, I kept forgetting to watch it. I watched the first 2 seasons in about 3-4 days. I got all caught up by the time the season 2 finale aired. Emily, starring Hailee Steinfeld, is a weird girl and I’ve learned so much about her. The show is mostly a comedy but there is drama as well.
Another AppleTV show. This past fall, I kept seeing a bunch of people online talking about Ted Lasso. I had no idea what it was about or what streaming service it was on. It’s a cute show. It’s about an American soccer coach who is hired to coach a professional British team. He was originally hired as a joke for the owner to get back at her ex-husband.
Evolvh kindly sent me a discovery set of their volume collection. As you know I only wash my hair about once a week, so I wanted to use these products for over a month before I shared them. The shampoo has a very light scent and cleans my hair without stripping it and the conditioner is moisturizing without weighing it down. I really enjoy with styling products. I have wavy hair and sometimes my hair is flat. When I use these products, when I wake up in the morning, my waves are voluminous, which I’ve been loving. You can get 15% off with code JENNIFER15
Target has so many amazing new clean beauty brands that I am dying to try. Naturium is one of the brands that Target carries. I needed a new eye cream and decided to try the Peptide one. It’s vegan, paraban and gluten free and is designed to brighten, improve dark circles and visually smooth lines and wrinkles. It also promotes collagen production. I love that it’s super moisturizing and light at the same time. I’ve also noticed an overall improvement under my eyes.
This is another new clean beauty brand at Target. As you know I’ve been trying to get rid of post acne dark spots on my face. I’ve been doing a few new things and I have noticed a huge difference. Really think it’s a combination of them. This toner is formulated with a four-acid complex with natural skin-brighteners like kojic and azelaic acid, AHAs, and bearberry extract plus Vitamin C. A lot of times, I cannot use toners everyday because my skin gets irritated and dry but I have not had this problem with this toner.
Last month, I shared the Verso Dark Spot Fix. Like I mentioned above, I am doing a few different things for fade my spots including hydrafacials and IPL treatments (so far I’ve only had 1). This peel is currently in my rotation. I got it a London Beauty, where I’m getting the hydrafacials for $30. Since I have sensitive skin, I only use it once a week and I do not use the dark spot fix on the same day otherwise my skin gets irritated. Enriched with pomegranate enzymes packed with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and skin-renewing properties.
Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes
The Year of Yes was my March book club book. I listened to the audio book because it is narrated by Shonda. This book was so good. I wasn’t really sure what to expect but I was pleased. She doesn’t really leave anything out. I laughed and I cried. This book also made me want to start saying yes to things that I’m scared of. In her year of yes, she also had to learn to start saying no to things too. Like some of her so called friends asking for a lot of money. Highly recommend this book. If you want to listen to the audio book, here are 60 days for free on Scribd.
