The Trabzon Museum is located inside the Kostaki Mansion. It was built in the 1900s as a private residence for Greek banker Kostaki Teophylaktos. In 1917, the house was acquired by the Nemlioğlu family. Between 1919 and 1923, during the Turkish Independence War, it was used as headquarters for the military.
