September Favourites

Hello! It’s me. I am back. Spent 10-12ish days in Turkiye and I got back last Friday night. So crazy it’s October. I didn’t even realize since I was in Istanbul when it became October. I tried a few products and of course started some new/old Turkish shows and movies. I have lots of good September favourites to share with you.

Go Turkiye Heartbound: Turkish Black Sea

Go Turkiye has been having these cute little mini-series about different cities around Turkiye. The newest one is about the Karadeniz region (Black Sea), where I was in April and it was so cool seeing all of the locations. This one stars Cemre Baysel, one of my favs, and Mert Yazicioğlu. It was super cute. I told my dad about it and he wanted to watch it, so I watched it twice. There are about 10 episodes but watching all of them only takes about 20 minutes. Very short episodes. Maybe 2-3 minutes each.

Mira Life After Divorce

This is a Turkish HBO Max show and it was actually very funny. After Mira’s husband surprises her with a divorce out of nowhere, she starts rebuilding her life and making decisions she never expected to make on her own.

Öngörü/ The Last Scene

This Turkish movie is on Disney+ and Hulu. The movie is about Selen, who gets visions of people getting hurt or kidnapped in the future and when she sees it happen in real life, she tries to fix it. But one night she gets a vision of her dying on New Year’s Eve. She has 198 days to try to fix it. She ends up falling in love with the guy from her vision. And she keeps trying to stop it, but every time she does, she gets another vision of her dying a different way.

Jones Road Miracle Balm

I’ve been wanting to try the Jones Road Miracle Balm for a while. I was hesitant because of the mixed reviews but, after reading a lot, the people who have dry skin like it the best and people with oily skin hate it. I have dry skin, so I figured I should try it. I bought it in dusty rose and have been wearing it on no-makeup days. You just need a pea-sized amount for your entire face and it gives a nice healthy glow!

Gelsin Hayat Bildiği Gibi/Let Life Come As It Knows

This dizi is from 2022 and I do remember it airing on tv but I just never watched it. Some of my friends watched it live and others watched it recently and loved it, so I decided to give it a try. The story follows Sadi, a former gang member who was put under protective services and is now a high school teacher and is now “married” to a police officer. Sadi’s mission is to mentor and protect a group of five troubled teenagers who have been sent from a reformatory program, giving them a second chance in life.

Türkiye

I was back in Turkiye from Sept 22- Oct 2. I was in Bodrum first and then Istanbul. In Bodrum, my friend, Caitlin, and I were caring for a sick kitten by our Airbnb. I ended up taking it to the vet. I wish I could’ve taken it home with me. Swimming in the sea was also wonderful. My one time each year. Then Istanbul was good as always. Even though I did get sick for about 1.5 days, I think food poisoning, it was still great!

Jones Road Beauty Your Foundation Stick

I also purchased the foundation stick from Jones Road Beauty in the shade light. The colour matches perfectly. I’ve been having issues with my makeup creasing and not laying on my skin right, I think because I do have dry skin. Nesye, this foundation stick is wonderful! I haven’t had any creasing issues and it lays on my skin so nicely. I also but their What the Foundation, but I’ve only used it twice and I didn’t take it to Turkiye because the jar is so heavy and the stick is perfect for travelling. I do plan on trying the other foundation more.
