When Whimsy and Row introduced their Venetian print, I fell in love! I knew the Venetian dress would be perfect for me to take to Portugal. The print came in multiple dresses and tops, and I ultimately decided on the Harper Dress, which is a tiered midi dress. The dress features a smocked bodice with ruffled cap sleeves and a sweetheart neckline. It’s super flattering. I ordered an X-small, and I did have to get it hemmed since I am petite.
When I actually took it to get hemmed, my tailor and another customer were saying it looked perfect on me and asked what type of shoes. When I said I was planning on wearing it in Portugal, I would most likely be wearing sneakers and sandals, they then changed their mind about getting it hemmed and agreed with me.
I paired the Venetian dress with my black sandals. I also kept my accessories simple. Zayno got me a stingray necklace from her home country, Mauritius, and I wore it with the dress.
This dress was worn on our third and last day in Porto! First, our morning started with us walking to the train station to get more pictures. We had gone on our walking tour but didn’t get a chance to get pictures of ourselves inside. We walked around some more before heading to the Stock Exchange Palace (stair pics). Afterwards, we walked to Rua de Flores (flower street), where we took more pictures before getting lunch!
Sadly, Whimsy and Row announced they were going out of business back in July. As I am writing this in August, they are still selling items on their site. It’s just so sad seeing all of these sustainable brands going out of business. However, I do think some of these brands’ founders are ready for something new and want to focus more on their families, but I don’t know for sure.
